Information for prospective members

Beginners’ Course (6 weeks/£17.50)

If you are joining as a beginner you will be given a six week introduction course. We will lend you equipment and introduce you to warm-up, foot-work and some basic moves. An information sheet is provided. You do not have to pay the course fee (£17.50) until the third week and if after two weeks you are one of a tiny minority who does not find fencing addictive, you may withdraw without charge.

Becoming a Member

For new members who have fenced before the same two weeks’ “You try us-We try you” applies and the fee structure is the same as is shown below.

After six weeks, beginners will be invited to join as a full or junior member and:

• issued with a Membership Card which also contains the club rules.

• asked to pay a monthly fee of £25 (£20:00 for Juniors)

• Visitor’s fees 

  • £7:50 per night.

  • Members of other Suffolk clubs and former members of Salle Rose £5:00

We anticipate that members will gradually buy their own equipment, especially if they enter competitions. We can help by obtaining club member discount.

Any surplus funds at the end of the quarter are spent on equipment for the club. All funds raised are spent on the club. No fees are paid to coaches.
