Barry

This is our coach and my husband Barry at his happiest, teaching fencing. Most of you know that he has been convicted of indecent assaults on one of his former pupils. I am 1000% certain the accusations made are false. I have known Barry for twenty years. We were about to celebrate our twentieth anniversary before he was taken away from us, ripping the heart out of our club.

I think I may safely say that no-one knows Barry better than I do, and I tell you he is innocent. He happens to be one of a hundred or so men in Britain least likely to ever be a 'sex offender', because of his medical condition. I think it also true to say that all of you who know Barry, as a teacher, as a fencing coach, as a team member, as a referee would agree that he is utterly decent, in every meaning of the word.

I am moreover immensely proud of how well he is doing in the situation he has been forced into. They say one can't keep a good man down, and Barry illustrates this in his inimitable way, by his kindness, his enthusiasm, his belief that good will triumph. He manages to create bubbles of well-being around him that helps others glean other ways to live their lives. He is in one word amazing.

We all miss him tremendously, and can't wait for him to come back to us, where he belongs.

If you wish, write to him at:

Barry Clark / XP7435 E3-7;  HMP Littlehey; Perry; Huntingdon; Cambs.; PE28 0SR

I can't promise a prompt reply, as so many of you already do write to him. Many thanks for that. It helps keep him on the right side of sanity.

Barry Clark: simply the best!
