That way I will not have to remember it for you.
Please get your entries in early. Competitions are usually on a Sunday (even if the
calendar below shows Saturday dates (this is because the Foil events are
on Saturdays). Entry forms are in the sword (free to BFA members) or on the web
or obtainable from the organiser.
Please
feel free to discuss with me, which competitions you wish to do in plenty of
time. That way it is possible to arrange car share. The closing date is usually
two weeks before the competition date.
Also
remember there are the regional competitions not shown here, though they will be
put in when we have decided on dates for them.

Most
competitions are for both boys and girls but not all, and some I would only
recommend for some? Also, check the
details on the
entry form, or British Fencing
website, for whether Epee events are Saturday or Sunday. I have most details
here, but not all.
I
do not expect you to go to them all, but it would help my planning for your
travel arrangements, if you could give this a look over and give me some
indication of your plans. I have
put by each comp my recommendations as to whom they would suit, but it is only a
recommendation.
There
are also the regions comps in April
& May when I get dates I will let
you know.

If you feel like going to Scotland? If you book EARLY you can get VERY cheap
flights to Edinburgh from Stanstead – it’s the accommodation that’s pricy
if you leave it – The comp is one day – Girls Saturday, Boys Sunday – so
if you travel in a car as a group it’s ok for the girls – depending on
who’s driving – Up Friday – drive back Saturday evening - comp usually
finishes before 6. For boys, travel Saturday, fence Sunday. I’ll be there as a
ref.
If you doing this you will need an FIE licence see BFA website for form - and enter via BFA - if you are
interested let me know we could travel together by car if you are going Friday
coming back Sunday - leaves a day for sightseeing - it is a lovely city.
